I am an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and the Camrost Felcorp Chair in Real Estate. I am also associate director of the David Feldman Centre for Real Estate and Urban Economics.
Previously, I was a professor at UC Berkeley and UBC. My current projects cover housing, gentrification, transportation, homelessness, remote work, and residential segregation. I am a frequent commentator in Canadian media on housing markets and transportation. For example, I collaborated with CBC Marketplace on 'Who has the worse commute in Canada?'.
I am on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Economic Geography, and a consultant for the World Bank. My research has been funded by the Gates Foundation, the NSF, the NBER, and the SSHRC and it has been covered by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and TIME magazine.
Recently, I co-founded Cities in Motion Lab to help cities worldwide benchmark transportation performance and improve policy.
I received my PhD from the University of Toronto in 2013.
