Welcome to my academic website. I am an assistant professor of economics at the University of British Columbia. My research interests are in urban economics and transportation, and my projects often involve collaborating with technology firms.

I received my PhD from the University of Toronto in 2013, and worked as an assistant professor of real estate at UC Berkeley before joining UBC in 2020. I am on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Economic Geography, and a consultant for the World Bank. My research has been funded by the SSHRC, the NSF, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and it regularly features in the popular press.

I will be giving a lecture on new data and methods in urban transportation at the UEA Summer School in Barcelona from June 15 to 17.
